They provided a whole home energy audit and proposed energy savings solutions. Member Comments: Overall it went very well. If a service provider does not come by way of referral, I generally will always turn to Angie's List. The owner, Bob, sent out his son and another worker to our home for the energy audit, it lasted about a half a day and it was very thorough. They later emailed their findings and recommendations as to what we could do to increase the efficiency of our home. We decided to go with just about all their recommendations (knowing we definitely needed attic insulation). The work took about 2-3 days, I can't remember exactly since it was a few months ago. The workers were very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The attic was blown in with cellulose, the walls/crawl spaces of our home were insulted, ductwork sealed and a few other misc. things were done. The best part of the $4,500 price was that $2,000 of it was given back in a BG&E rebate program. As far as I'm concerned, I only paid $2,500 for all the work that was done, which I felt like was a very fair deal. Bob the owner took care of all the paperwork with the BG&E rebate and I received it about 6-8 weeks after the work was completed (I was waiting on the rebate to finally write the review, which I received today 9/14). All in all, the owner and the staff did what they said they were going to do and did it well. I'd hire this company again and would certainly recommend them. Thanks for all the great work! Bob is experienced, careful, and explains things in non technical terms. His staff were meticulous in cleaning up after themselves. This company wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied before they considered the job done. They investigated the house using thermal imaging and showed us the readings as they went along. They got back to us within a couple of days with a full list of where we would get the most bang for the buck and estimates for each. We needed a lot of attic insulation and to have the seams of our external-facing walls (at the baseboards and ceilings) sealed as well as replacing incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs. We went ahead and had this done for $4950. It took almost 2 months, but I just received my rebate check from BG&E for $2,000 hence the lower cost of service listed. Member Comments: Bob came in and showed me everything that was going on with heat/cool loss in my house on all three floors. When he came back to actually seal the house, his team showed up and got the job done. They were a little late the second day (out of 3 days), but things happen and I wasn't too worried as long as they got all the work done within that timeframe. They put a lot of insulation in the ceiling, foam sealed externally where appropriate, put additional insulation in ceiling/roof areas that were tougher to get to with foam, and silicone sealed all the baseboards and ceilings that were adjoining outside walls. They came upon a surprise from my air intake for the primary furnace/AC that basically, it was pulling in air from everywhere, including the attic (last place you want the air to come from). They sealed that up really well at no extra charge! Since BG&E has been sending out their evaluations of efficiency, I'm usually worse than my neighbors or right along with them in the comparison charts (and I have solar panels as well). Since this has been complete, I now show up as more efficient than my neighbors--and that only took a month! I highly recommend working with Bob and his team to seal your house. It will lower your energy consumption which helps the environment and saves you money! I was contacted immediately after making the payment and the appointment was scheduled. First, the team evaluated the house for energy leakage. They explained everything they were doing as they went along. They put in new energy efficient light bulbs, adapters for the faucets to save on water, added insulation around the water heater pipes and offered water efficient shower heads as part of the initial evaluation and service. I was really impressed! Then they suggested a plan, which made sound sense to me, and confirmed my suspicion that most of the energy was leaking out of the attic. They patiently answered all of my questions. I was contacted by Bob, the owner about the results of the initial test and he sent a written proposal and estimate. The insulation was installed effectively and the house was re-evaluated to determine the effectiveness of the changes made. Everyone, from the first group who evaluated the house to the second group that installed the insulation, were motivated, friendly, punctual, respectful, informative/educated and clean-up conscious. The owner is wonderful and customer satisfaction/quality oriented. Bob worked with me regarding the pricing/rebates to determine the best use of my money vs. outcome/need. He submitted all of the rebates to BGE, which made the process very easy for me. I received the check yesterday in the mail. I'm extremely satisfied with the service. It was exactly what I wanted. The house feels so much better to me! Thanks so much and keep up the great work! I also appreciate that Angie's list offered the initial deal at a great price. It's wonderful to have exposure to high quality service providers. The terms of the deal were clear and the service was delivered as promised. This was very educational for us, because we were considering new windows, to offset high heating bills. We were delighted to find out that the blow in insulation is less than the cost of windows.
